Long time (30+ years) South Sound Cutthroat
angler Mel Hurd will share some of his knowledge to help you discover the
wonders of this fishery. South Puget Sound has some of , if not THE
best fly fishing for Searun Cutthroat in all of Puget Sound. Attend this seminar
and you will learn what it takes to be successful in this exciting and
challenging fishery, whether you’re fishing from a boat or off the beach the
information presented will be helpful.
Topics covered will include: when & where to fish, what fly patterns to use,
what tackle and gear to use and more.

Fly Fishing for Chum on Saltwater Beaches
This is a hands on class where you’ll be introduced to some of the most productive flies and the techniques used to catch these hardest fighting of all Pacific salmon. Pound for pound their strength is incredible.
Myself (Tom Bolender) and Mel Hurd (local saltwater guru) will take up to 10 students to a beach in Allyn Washington.
Requirements for the class are:

Ability to cast at least 50 feet
Ø
8-10 weight rod*
Ø
Floating, intermediate sink tip or full
intermediate sink line with at least 100 yards of backing.
* We do have a few rods that we can loan for the class, so don’t let that stop you. Rods are on a first come, first serve basis.
